am I too old to blog?
I started blogging during a spate of unemployment in 2001. I blogged regularly for five years, fueled by cubicle downtime.
I fed on MSM and the blogosphere and even wrote during work. Now that I've found a career, I find it inconceivable that I ever really had that much personal space.
So now, I'm trying to get back into this game as an adult - reading and writing at night. I was checking through my blogroll and became intimidated by the many ways that my fellow bloggers have changed over the years. Especially Heretical Ideas, which used to have the ugliest template ever. Turns out, they evolved into an e-zine with the blog being a side project.
I've decided I just have to try. It wont be as breathless as it was back in the day. Nor will I have digested much of the online chatter before writing, but I'm still convinced there's a reason for my voice online:
Too few people realize the depth of depravity in our corporatocracy.
Too few people connect the dots between current events and the underlying reasons for the news.
Too few people have heard a feminist take on culture.
So, hopefully, I'll keep coming back to this blog and that blog and eventually, many more people will know about Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) and realize that Feminism Never Died, nor did it begin with Friedan.
